Fala to the Rescue Day 2015 is now one for the books. Every year is different, and this year was no exception. We made good time and cruised into Warm Springs to the Meriwether after a stop at our favorite lunch place with a take out bag. First snag. We were in a different room than promised, but our new room was on the ground floor. The Meriwether is called an Inn euphemistically…it is really a ’50 style Motel that the nice owners are always updating. Appawerently, Mama didn’t give me enough time outside before she brought me in, and I had an accident, which she stepped in with both feet. OOPSIE. The owner came over with some Resolve and cleaned it up, but Mama was both sympathetic to me, and mortified…cause I don’t normally do stuff like that. We got all that taken care of and nipped over to Biker’s Alley, our favorite hangout so we could chill out Crisis number 2. Mama’s Giant Bunny was MIA. OH NO…..Mama was crushed. She did find this window that she liked, but kept hoping the Bunny would hop Here they are last year…you can see they are soul mates….BOL! .The next day, Aunt Bronwyn Jennings and McTavish came and we all went to their favorite breakfast spot (McT and I got bacon and some scrambled egg too!), and then on to Calloway Gardens, a huge recreational park…there we are above the Bunny in our travel crates….I have pine straw in my beard. We went all over Calloway, and had an EXTRA LARGE time. Calloway is ready for their Christmas Light Show. Mama and Aunt Bronwyn are calling this adventure two blondes in a red SUV, because they accidently drove the wrong way down one road till a Maintenance Crew started making hand signals Only then did they realize they were seeing the lighted figures from the rear. Everything looked better from the front. No one was harmed during this drive I am happy to report. First stop, The Butterfly Garden, where you can walk and have butterflies land on your head or even let them hop on your hand. That’s Mama’s special place. Then onto the Chapel,Here’s a detail of the huge stained glass window. There was a real Organist, who began to play. Mama said, “Lordy, I thought he was going to break into A Whiter Shade of Pale there for a moment”. Aunt Bronwyn said “Me too!” Heaven help them both if that’s what had happened. Fortunately McT and I were safe in our crates should they have been hauled off……..
There is more to tell, so I will save that for me next blog!
